One of Alaina’s Christmas gifts from her aunties was a gift card to Build-A-Bear. (I think it was a stroke of brilliance on my part.) I thought Alaina would really dig getting to pick out an animal and its outfit. Plus, I knew her aunts would have a great time taking her.
Turns out, I was right. Aunts Monda and Sonda took Alaina to Build-A-Bear on a recent Saturday. She loved it. They said she was a little bit suspicious about the machine that stuffs the bear (Alaina HATES loud noises, especially mechanical ones) but she dug everything else. She picked out a pink kitty cat and dressed it in a pink dress and pink shoes.
Her aunties also put in a recording of them saying, “We love you Alaina!” that plays when you push the kitty’s hand. Alaina likes to push that button every night two or three times before she goes to bed.

Alaina pushed that button about 10 times in the care on the way home from Build A Cat. We laughed knowing she was bringing it to your house not ours. She picked out the pink cat all by herself.
