Hot Flashes are for sissies

In one of my many past efforts to fend off my endometriosis and get pregnant – My doctor put me on some medicine that he said would send my body through a “fake menopause.” He warned me about a few of the side effects including hot flashes and mood swings.

I thought to myself – hot flashes are just something older women have and surely they are not as bad as they nag on about.

BOY WAS I WRONG!

I was lounging on the couch looking at some magazines and my husband was on the sofa watching TV. All of a sudden I got HOT – not like a sit in front of the fan and cool off hot. More like a – OMG, burning inside HOT!

I looked at my husband and asked “Are you Hot or is it just me?”
After repeating this phrase a few times – I jumped up, stripped off my clothes and sprawled out on the couch in an effort to get cool.

My husband, mistaking this for “GO TIME, jumped off the sofa and perched himself next to me with a BIG cheesy grin. I quickly corrected him adding if you don’t get that grin off your face and get away from me, you will leave this couch with one less body part then you came over here with. That was probably the “mood swings” my Dr. warned me about.

After that my husband pretty much knew to back off during my hot flashes. Now he grabs  a cold beverage and sits on the couch  to “Enjoy the show”.
