Wonder Bumpers review by Yavonda

I am anti-bumpers. I would rather deal with the fear of my child’s arm getting stuck in the crib slats or her banging her head than deal with the fear of her suffocating.

Before Alaina was born I had already decided no crib bumpers. So when GoMamaGo Designs sent a sample of their Wonder Bumpers to review, I was pretty skeptical.

However, when I put the Wonder Bumpers on my daughter’s crib, I was pleasantly surprised. Instead of being a solid piece that ties all the way around the crib, Wonder Bumpers are individual pads that go around every slat in the crib. This leaves open spaces between the slats for air to flow, but there isn’t enough room for an infant to get her arm stuck.

Another plus is that there isn’t this big wad of material for an older baby to use to climb out of the crib. Lastly, they’re really cute and come in a wide range of colors and designs to work with many different nursery decors.

There are a couple of downsides to Wonder Bumpers. The first one is price. A set of 24 bumpers will run $99, while the set of 38 bumpers, which their Web site says is the standard amount for a crib, runs $159. Ouch. Even more problematic for me, the bumpers were too long for my daughter’s crib so they bunched up in a way that wasn’t very attractive.

While Wonder Bumpers won’t work in my nursery, they are worth a look for the parents that really want a crib bumper but just aren’t comfortable with the standard ones on the market. More information is available at www.gomamagodesigns.com
