The fat woman’s lament

Recently I’ve been shopping for work clothes. I do this once or twice a year, where I really try to beef up my work wardrobe. I’m sure this isn’t an easy endeavor for slim women. But when you have crossed over into the Women’s world, it is almost impossible.

I am not a small woman. I acknowledge this — and I’m currently working on losing some weight. But I’m not blind. Nor am I old. So is it too much to ask for clothes that aren’t butt ugly? What about some that are age appropriate? I’d rather not look like I’m headed to the nursing home’s rec room.

I did manage to find a few cute outfits. But its much more fun to show you the dreadful ones.

Floral skinny pants — WHY would you think Plus size women need skinny jeans, much less floral ones?

This was called a metallic lace poncho. Seriously?

A clingy silver lame dress. Need I say more?
