Brad’s grandmother, Mary Nell, is 96-years-old and full of life. She has been in need of a pedicure so I decided to take her to one of my favorite places, Cosmetique in North Little Rock with one of my favorite stylist, Kylie.
The morning started out pretty good for me. I had a 10:30 a.m. doctor’s appointment
but decided to get up early and head to Target first. Needless to say, I lost track of time while strolling through the store, resulting in rushing through the check-out and racing over to my appointment.
My doctor was running a little behind also. I ended up leaving her office shortly before noon, starving to death and needing to get back to North Little Rock to pick up Mary Nell.
No problem I said to myself. I would just stop by Chick-fil-a on the way to North Little Rock and eat my lunch in the car. Nope, Chick-fil-a had a line five to six cars deep on Markham.
I rushed over to the North Little Rock Chick-fil-a before heading to get Mary Nell for her 1 p.m. appointment.
Seems her day was going about as good as mine was. She had lost her house key, knocked the lens out of her glasses and man was she on edge. It took me awhile to get her in the car and down to Cosmetique but we made it right at 1 p.m.
I found the lost key in Mary Nell’s purse as I chatted with Mary Nell during her
pedicure. She was so glad I had found the lost key and started to relax and enjoy herself as we chatted with Kylie.
Mary Nell warned us about how ticklish her feet were but I was not ready for what happened next. She started giggling like a little school girl. Giggling harder and
louder as Kylie worked on the bottom of her feet. At one point Kylie had to stop and remind Mary Nell to catch her breath.
Seeing her laugh like that made me smile and thank God I have her in my life.
Suddenly, my day was brighter.
Don’t forget to enter this week’s Freebie Friday by the end of the day today. Up for grabs,
